The Intermarché wants to expand by 560 m2 and knock down a neighboring house

It’s not just the building that will be expanded. The car park will also be entitled to an extension and will have 90 spaces. The additional pitches will be made of grass slabs, a permeable surface. Note that the exit from the Intermarchénew lookwill no longer be done by rue des Bons Enfants, but by rue du Marais.

The exterior of the store will be modernized and will benefit from a new look, identical to that of the extension. The rear facade, located rue de la Motte, will also be given a facelift and will be repainted.

The file is currently subject to a public inquiry and is available for consultation at the town planning department until Tuesday, August 30.

“No impact on mobility”

For his part, the acting mayor, Éric Dosogne, does not yet have an opinion on the file.“We will examine it in college, taking into account the comments made by the residents”he explains.

For him, the demolition of the neighboring house is not a drama. “It’s a pretty house, but it doesn’t have our particular cachet. »The main ff is also not worried regarding a possible impact on mobility. “The Intermarché is a neighborhood store. I don’t think people will drive from Andenne just because the building has been extended. »On the contrary, he believes that the expansion is a good omen. “It’s a good thing that companies are investing in Huy. It means that they believe that the City has an economic future,”concludes Eric Dosogne.
