The inspection campaign of the Ministry of Interior focused on the Central Jail in Kuwait

In Kuwait, the inspection campaign of the Ministry of Interior continues, focusing on the Central Jail. Mobile phones and weapons were recovered during the inspection conducted yesterday. The Jail Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs has started a special inspection campaign on the instructions of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Defense Minister and Acting Interior Minister Sheikh Talal Khalid Sabah. Mobile phones, sharp weapons, drugs etc. were recovered during the search. Six smart phones, 6 bluetooth ear phones, mobile chargers, three knives, mobile network booster, SIM cards and around 10 drug packets were found hidden under the wash basin and inside the bed.

Jail Security Chief Major General Abdullah Safha informed that those in the cells where unauthorized items were found have been handed over to the concerned department for further questioning. Last month, the Home Minister had visited Central and directed to improve the security arrangements. The Home Minister has instructed the officials that whoever comes to see the prisoners should not be allowed inside without security checks. The Home Minister’s lightning inspection has started in various offices under the Ministry of Home Affairs of the country. Last day, Sheikh Talal Al Khalid visited various police stations in the country.
