The Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Production Design is awarded to one television show each year. For 2022 the winners are Bruce Rodgers, Shelley Rodgers, Lindsey Breslauer, Lily Rodgers and María García for the production of the Super Bowl LVII halftime show that starred Rihanna.

For this reason, María García herself spoke on W Fin De Semana about how she achieved this achievement.

“I had a fixation with fashion, I did an internship with Olga Piedrahita, a fashion designer. I saw how she transformed a blank world into something completely different and there I became fixated on the creation of worlds,” she said about her beginnings.

About the Super Bowl he said that “it is a 12-13 minute show, and we spent 5 months preparing it. It is a very well prepared puzzle. They give us 5 or 6 minutes to be on the court and then leave no trace that we were there.”

Adding at the same time that “they have been very hard months since they tell us who the artist is, until we enter that process.”

He explained that “Rihanna is a spectacle, she is a talent that cannot be compared.”

He also pointed out that in these types of events “something crazy always happens, and since the best are there, someone has to try to fix it. This is live, there is no way to go back or pause.”
