The INE approves to request a thousand 738 million pesos from the Treasury for the revocation of the mandate

The General advice of National Electoral Institute (OTHER) approved the request to the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit of 1,738 million pesos to carry out the mandate revocation process.

In session extraordinary, the directors approved a decrease of 524 million pesos to the cost of the exercise.

Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, counselor president of the organization, pointed out that with this adjustment the exercise will cost 3 thousand 306.73 million pesos when changing costs of personnel training, investment for sanitary material and change of security paper, used in electoral processes, for paper with padlocks of security, like the one used in the popular consultation.

I want to be clear: this is not ideal, since the INE’s operational margin of maneuver is limited and we are placing the Mandate Revocation exercise in a ‘zone of care’ that, although manageable, is by no means desirable. It is the result of a complex, unprecedented and inconvenient situation in which this Institute has been placed ”, expressed the head of the INE.

Lorenzo Córdova stated that “no one in their right mind” can accuse the INE of “not having done everything in its power” to comply with the process of revocation of mandate.

The INE will remain attentive to the response of the Treasury “and the resolutions that in the future might be adopted in the Supreme Court.”

Córdova Vianello pointed out that it will be the decision of the Ministry of Finance if the revocation of the mandate is given in accordance with the provisions of the law.
