The Indonesian Futsal National Team (Timnas) achieved a 5-1 victory over Myanmar in the final match of the 2024 ASEAN Futsal Championship group phase which took place at Nakhon Ratchasima Stadium, Thailand, Wednesday (6/11).
Indonesia completed their journey in Group B with a perfect record, collecting 9 points from 3 matches without defeat, and confirmed themselves as group winners. Indonesia appeared dominant from the first minute, with Rio Pangestu opening the scoring in the 14th minute.
This goal gave Indonesia a 1-0 lead which lasted until the first half. Entering the second half, Indonesia added goals through Brian Ick (22nd minute) and Samuel Eko (23rd minute), which put Indonesia ahead 3-0.

Myanmar had time to reduce the deficit to 3-1 in the 28th minute, but Indonesia immediately responded with two quick goals. Firman Adriansyah scored Indonesia’s fourth goal in the 32nd minute, before Romi Humandri increased the lead to 5-1 just one minute later in the 33rd minute, closing the match with a convincing win.
“We are very satisfied with the result of this match, although I regret the goal scored by Myanmar. It was more due to luck, but we remained focused and did not let our guard down. Overall, I am very satisfied with the players’ performance today. They appeared disciplined, no “Some of them got cards and showed significant progress,” said Indonesian Futsal National Team Coach Hector Souto in his statement, Wednesday (6/11).
“With this victory, we are now ready to face the semifinals. We are not afraid to face anyone. The Indonesian national team will continue to progress, and I am sure that nothing can stop us. We will continue to fight to achieve the best results,” he added.

Meanwhile, Brian Ick, who scored the second goal for Indonesia, said that his party was quite proud of the result.
“All the hard work and training for 3 months finally paid off. Thank God for this opportunity, and I also want to say a big thank you to the Indonesian people for their support. Pray for us so that we can continue to provide the best and bring pride to the Indonesian nation in every match,” said Brian Ick.
