Adnan Sami Khan, who left Pakistan and became an Indian citizen, never misses an opportunity to please Indians and is often seen licking their soles to prove his loyalty to India. But Adnan Sami Khan has been fined Rs 50 lakh by the Appellate Tribunal of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) despite appeasing the Indians.

According to Indian media, Adnan Sami Khan bought 8 flats and 5 parking lots in Mumbai, India in 2003, but at that time he did not have Indian citizenship, but he was still a Pakistani at that time and he sold this property to the Reserve Bank of India. Purchased without permission.
In 2010, the Appellate Tribunal quashed the order of confiscation of Adnan Sami Khan’s property by the Enforcement Directorate Special Director (Mumbai), but increased the fine imposed on him.

Adnan Sami Khan has to pay this fine within three months while Adnan Sami has already deposited Rs.10 lakh. Adnan Sami Khan says in this regard that he was unaware that a person with Pakistani citizenship cannot buy property in India.

The FEMA tribunal further said that Adnan Sami bought these flats with the money he earned while living in India and paid the amount by taking a loan from an Indian bank. Adnan Sami Khan’s property will not be confiscated but he will have to pay a fine. It should be noted that Adnan Sami Khan got Indian citizenship in 2016.
