From the month of January 2023people who refused to install a Linky meter at home will have to take readings once a year. These readings are to be sent to Enedis by email or on the Internet. If you don’t take the time to complete this task or if you simply forget, you will need pay almost 5 euros per month. A fine linked to “expenses incurred to follow up with customers for the transmission of their indexes, developments in the computer system, as well as the carrying out of checks by a technician”, as the company explains. In fact, this measure starts from next year but in reality the amount can only be debited in 2024as detailed by the economic magazine Challenges.

Are alternatives to the Linky meter possible?

There is no no real alternatives for Linky meter refractories. Be aware that the installation of the meter is obligatory for everyone. By equipping yourself, you will escape this fine.
