We hear, stories, with Ryanair! But that of Barry Masterson, an Irishman, is worth the detour. Indeed, like 156 other passengers, the young man flew from Dublin to Faro, in southern Portugal. But what was the surprise of the travelers when they discovered, on getting off the plane, that the aircraft had landed… in Malaga, Spain!
After long hours of waiting on the spot, the passengers were finally invited to board a bus which took the road to the initial destination for a journey… of 5 hours: “12 hours ago, I was at the Dublin airport, and now I’m at a petrol station in Malaga, it’s 5.41 am, help,” the young man tweeted as he recounted his journey.
In a series of tweets, Barry indeed recounts his journey, detailing the change of driver at the border, the pee stops and other funny events, or not, that he and the other passengers have to deal with.
Finally, following five hours on the road, the travelers arrived in Faro.
Ryanair has confirmed that the plane in question had to be diverted due to the air traffic controllers’ strike in France and apologizes for the inconvenience.
