John Bolton, the former National Security Adviser in the US, has said that the US Congress should look into the issue of the allegedly leaked ciphers related to the removal of former Prime Minister Imran Khan from power when it returns from summer recess.
John Bolton said he is concerned about the Biden administration’s foreign policy toward South Asia because it is not entirely clear, according to a foreign news agency.
According to the report, during the interview, he was asked whether the language used in the cipher (alleged text) was normal for a State Department official. In response, he said that he had seen a report published by ‘The Intercept’ news website and observed that it was about trying to get Pakistan’s support against Russia in response to an unprovoked attack on Ukraine.
“I would be surprised if those were really the exact words he said in that, under any administration, but especially under the Biden administration, calling for the State Department to remove Imran Khan,” he said. It is unusual.
In response to another question, John Bolton said that Biden administration officials do not know what their strategic needs are, it is vague and unclear about the situation in Pakistan.
