The government has decided, for the first time this year, to carry out a vaccination campaign for 5th grade students. This concerns human papillomaviruses (HPV). For parents, it’s time to choose.
THE parents of middle school students (boys and girls) in 5th grade have until October 15 to express their decision regarding the vaccination of their child against the papillomavirus, indicates the Occitanie Regional Health Agency in a press release, Thursday September 28, 2023. This vaccination campaign will be carried out directly in colleges.
To communicate their decision, the parents concerned must connect to the registration platform therefore remains accessible until October 15, 2023 inclusive. The operational launch period of this vaccination campaign in the Academies of Montpellier and Toulouse remains unknown to this day.
In Occitania to date, the first 6,900 families have already completed the electronic registration form which allows them to express their choice for their child: in 9 out of 10 cases, these families chose prevention through vaccination HPV (human papillomavirus) causes 6,400 new cases of cancer each year. Both men and women are affected by this virus.
