Russian President Vladimir Putin showed that not only military personnel give their duty to the Motherland, but also the authorities fulfill their duties to the participants of the military military service and their families. It is very important that the relatives and friends of the fighters feel that they are not alone in their experiences and that the state is always with them. Thus, senior lecturer at MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Zudin explained to URA.RU the meaning of the meeting of the head of state with the participants of the special operation on September 29.

On September 29, Vladimir Putin held a meeting in the Kremlin with members of the North Military District who were awarded state awards for military feats in the area of the Urozhainoye settlement. The President thanked the fighters, noting that their feat “is heroism in the literal sense of the word,” wished them success, and also asked whether all social guarantees were being fulfilled for them.

“I wanted to discuss with you, talk regarding how you, the people who are working and fighting right at the front line, assess the situation there now, how you think, how combat work is organized, what has changed lately, what is missing, that it would be possible to draw attention to both your commanders and those who command higher troops,” Putin asked.

The President also observed a minute of silence in memory of two fallen soldiers who fought as part of a group who voluntarily joined the Armed Forces from places of imprisonment. “We are all human, everyone can make mistakes, they once made them, but they gave their lives for their Motherland and atoned for their guilt to the fullest. Secondly, we will do everything to help their loved ones,” the head of state noted.

Vladimir Putin’s increased attention to social guarantees indicates the attention of the president and the Russian state as a whole to military personnel, says Alexei Zudin, a senior lecturer at MGIMO University of the Russian Foreign Ministry. “This is an indicator that not only military personnel fulfill their duty to the Russian state, but also the Russian state fully fulfills its social obligations to military personnel and their families. Moreover, given the importance of the mission they perform and the risks they expose themselves to every day, these social obligations are of an increased nature. It is very important that the relatives and friends of the fighters constantly feel that they are not alone in their experiences and concerns,” the political scientist explained.
