“We have a highly advanced computer program that allows us to visualize the medical tests on the computer screen”, explains Núñez García, who recalls that these new technologies also facilitate and favor the experience of patients, who can also view the results of the tests performed on them from home at the Villalba hospital.

Improve patient life
The Villalba internist service is very focused on improving the lives of its patients, especially the elderly: “We have a project to reduce the number of hospital transfers”, explains Núñez who is proud of the good communication that his service maintains with the residences. It values the importance of monitoring elderly patients where they live, either at home or in a center.
“Income greatly alters people’s lives, especially the elderly, thanks to the personalized attentionat home or through new technologies, we can reduce the number of transfers and avoid long bed stays ”, he remarks.
This service is eminently dedicated to patient care, so, in the words of its head of service, its ‘one leg’ would be research. “It is something in which we are focused on improving, we have a low research profile, but it is because we work day by day with the patient and we really like clinical practice“, Explain.
