Rabat- Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas affirmed, Thursday in Rabat, that the stages of implementation of the roadmap of relations between Morocco and Spain , established during the visit to the Kingdom of the President of the Spanish Government, Mr. Pedro Sanchez, at the invitation of HM King Mohammed VI, are taking place “at a very satisfactory pace”.

The discussions relating to the implementation of the roadmap “are taking place at a very satisfactory pace and the files are being dealt with in order of priority”, indicated Mr. Baitas during a press conference at the end of the weekly meeting of the Government Council, held under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, adding that “the vision will be more comprehensive following the expiration of the fixed deadlines”.

The Spanish government expressed Monday its satisfaction with the “positive results” of the new roadmap established between the two countries.

“We can congratulate ourselves because this new step is proving to be very positive,” underlined the spokesperson for the Spanish government, Isabel Rodriguez, who was the guest of a program on Spanish television (TVE).

The joint declaration adopted last April by Morocco and Spain, at the end of discussions between the Sovereign and the President of the Spanish government, affirmed that the two countries are beginning to build a new stage in their bilateral relations.

This new stage responds to the call of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to “inaugurate an unprecedented stage in relations between the two countries”, and of His Majesty King Felipe VI to “walk together to materialize this new relationship”.

It also corresponds to the desire of the President of the Spanish Government, HE Pedro Sánchez to “build a relationship on more solid foundations”.

According to the joint statement, sectoral cooperation will be reactivated in all areas of common interest: economic, commercial, energy, industrial and cultural, among others.
