The Imperial Porcelain Factory released a limited series of porcelain mugs, the design of which was generated by the Kandinsky neural network from Sber. Sostav was informed regarding this by the plant’s press service.
Company experts formulated dozens of text queries, the main character of which was the dragon, the symbol of 2024. As a result, the neural network created two drawings that were transferred to porcelain mugs.
Sales of products will start on February 1 on the website of the Imperial Porcelain Factory.

The very name of the Kandinsky neural network predetermined our cooperation with the Sber team. This is not just a coincidence. After all, the artist Wassily Kandinsky himself, who stood at the origins of abstract art, made sketches of paintings for services. A hundred years later, its digital “successor” continued this wonderful tradition.
According to Maxim Eremenko, vice president, director of the department for the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning at Sberbank, Kandinsky is ready to be used for business purposes: it can provide assistance in the development, for example, of a logo and other elements of corporate identity. “And, as our joint project with the Imperial Porcelain Factory shows, the synergy of human labor and artificial intelligence produces amazing results in art too: a unique porcelain design is born for the coming Year of the Dragon,” added Eremenko.
The Kandinsky neural network was developed and trained in 2022 by Sber AI researchers together with scientists from the AIRI Institute of Artificial Intelligence. Later the neural network was updated to version 2.2. It was noted that with it it is possible to create photorealistic images with higher resolution and change the aspect ratio during generation. And in November 2023, version 3.0 appeared, which better understands text queries and also creates videos up to eight seconds long.
