The IMF approved a loan of 15.6 billion dollars to Ukraine

According to the IMF announcement, the loan program will be implemented in two phases. The first phase, planned for 2023-24, focuses on establishing a stable budget for 2023, sustainable disinflation and a stable exchange rate, and long-term financial stability.

In the second phase, the focus is on more ambitious structural reforms aimed at strengthening macroeconomic stability, supporting the recovery and increasing economic resilience.

The USD 15.6 billion loan program is part of a larger USD 115 billion international support package to meet Ukraine’s urgent financing needs, the IMF pointed out.
