The newspaper was confirmed the information by a relative of the lady, Monday followingnoon.

Ms. Racine and another person, a man in his 40s, have both been missing since torrential rains caused multiple subsidence of the ground over the past weekend.

Her spouse, Jean-Philippe Caty, and she would have gone out on the road to Fjord-du-Saguenay National Park to clear debris that cluttered it when a violent gust of water surprised them.

Listen to the interview with Andrée Laforest, Minister of Municipal Affairs of Quebec responsible for the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region on Marie Montpetit’s show via QUB radio :

The man was thrown through the air and sustained serious leg injuries. On his adrenaline rush, he did everything to try to save his companion, getting stuck deep in the mud. He failed to stop his slide towards the Eternity River.

“He spent two hours completely stuck screaming while bleeding,” says a person who has known the two victims for several years.
