On the morning of this June 12, Astrid Cáceres, director of the ICBF, delivered statements regarding what will be the future of the four minors, rescued on June 9 in the Guaviare jungle.

Despite the miracle that took place in the Guaviare jungle, the Family Welfare Institute provided details regarding the state of health of the four brothers, Lesly, Soleiny, Tien Noriel and Cristin.

The rescue of the children was marred by reports of sexual and physical abuse and domestic violence by Manuel Ranoquefather of the children, as announced by the Magdalena Mucutuy family, mother of the minors, who, according to Lesly, remained alive for four days.

Now, for the authorities, their main priority is to ensure the physical and emotional care of the children. For this reason, the director of ICBF, in an interview on Blu Radio, indicated that the institution will take care of minors while family problems are addressed.

The ICBF has been working hand in hand with the National Organization of the Indigenous Peoples of the Colombian Amazon (Opiac) and the Military Hospital, in order to provide them with continuous support in their reconstruction process, despite their disappearance for 40 days, with emotional support programs with a comprehensive approach that prioritizes their care. Faced with the accusations of the Mucutuy family, the director of the ICBF pointed out that programs were implemented to guarantee their comprehensive care.

The courage of the little ones to survive such a difficult experience is truly shocking. Once they were rescued, they were transferred to the Centrar Military Hospital, in the capital, where the doctors assure that the condition of the minors is reserved. All the pertinent protocols are being carried out for his speedy recovery; However, Cáceres explained that the child under one year of age is in intermediate care, because her state of health requires more attention.

Let us remember that the brothers were found in a complete state of malnutrition, since there was little food they had to live on during all that time, some of them were seeds of the fruits of the milpesos and the juan soco, and the fariña.

The ICBF has shown an exemplary commitment to the care and support of rescued children, recognizing the importance of attending to both their physical and emotional health, which is not only limited at present, but also, in the long term, with the challenges that face family. Minors are being cared for individually to be guided in the best way in this resilience process.

Love and joy become the main means of protection, to continue and allow children to believe once more in a future full of possibilities.

The unknown details of the accident

Narciso Mucutuy, grandfather of the children rescued in the jungle, spoke with WEEK and narrated in detail the dramatic moments they had to experience during the disappearance of the brothers.

In addition, he denied that his daughter Magdalena was alive for four days following the accident, because the strong impact caused her instant death. In the same way, he assured that Lesly, the youngest of 13 years, did not have any kind of conversation with her mother before she died.

In the interview, he highlighted the leadership of Lesly, who told his grandfather that at no time did he feel afraid, his only objective was to reach the end of the jungle and save his brothers, all this thanks to the fact that in the indigenous community, from very young, they teach them to think and face the world in the face of any adversity.
