MIAMI (EFE).— The Inter American Press Affiliation (IAPA) welcomed the choice of a Guatemalan courtroom that yesterday granted a measure of home arrest to outstanding journalist José Rubén Zamora Marroquín, imprisoned since 2022 following his criticism of the federal government he presided over for corruption. Zamora, nevertheless, will stay in jail as a result of he faces two different judicial proceedings for alleged obstruction of Justice by the Public Ministry (Prosecutor’s Workplace), whose management is sanctioned by the US.
