Investigators working on the young woman found dead on Friday by a group of hikers in La Salle, in the Equilivaz chapel, abandoned for years. According to what we learn, there are stab marks on the body of the woman, who should be between 20 and 25 years old. This information led to the prosecution’s strengthening the murder hypothesis. Investigations are also underway into a van, which was apparently seen near the abandoned town. This is the news story with which Eleonora Daniele opened the latest episode of Storie Italiane, the current affairs programme. After connecting with the correspondent, sent on site to inspect the place where the body was found, she explained: “Let’s tell the story of the place where you are. They call it the ghost village. It is an abandoned place in the middle of the woods, a ghost place” .
“It’s exactly like that. It’s very suggestive. Houses made with slabs that collapsed due to a landslide. It’s also difficult to bivouac so we wonder why this girl stopped right here. There were no signs of a fire lit or other elements that she had stopped there for days”: these are the words spoken by the journalist who arrived at the place where the young woman’s body was found. Is it possible that she ran away there to save herself from someone? According to the correspondent, it is “the most viable hypothesis”. “She was curled up. She had no blankets or saucepans. Food scraps yes, but nothing that suggests she had been there for days,” she continued. Then Daniele shifted the focus of the discussion to the hunt for the van. “Here there is only a walkway accessible to hikers but not to vehicles. If that van is connected to this affair, it is possible that whoever is driving it arrived here with the girl. It is a little-traveled place. Go there if you know it. We will need to understand whether these injuries were fatal or due to something else. The cameras that are there are helping the investigators on the red van”, said the journalist.
