Happy birthday, Subaru Forester! One of the flagship SUVs of the Japanese brand celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2022. For the occasion, Subaru is offering it a slight restyling which mainly concerns its front face and the equipment it carries. The face of the Forester e-Boxer is therefore somewhat redesigned in terms of its grille, its LED lights and even its fog lights.

It is especially in terms of driving aids that the Subaru Forester e-Boxer is full of new features. According to information provided by Subaru, the SUV is now offered with the fourth generation of EyeSight Driver Assist technology, capable of detecting objects on the road of the vehicle and reducing the power of a potential impact. Avoidance aid, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist have also been installed.

On the technical side, this 2022 version of the Subaru Forester e-Boxer is still powered by a hybrid block, including a 2.0 petrol four-cylinder engine and a 13.5 kW electric motor. Total power is 150 hp, which would allow the Forester to shoot 0-100 km / h in 11.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 km / h. Three driving modes are offered, and among them, the EV Driving mode allows the electric motor to be used for 1.6 kilometers, at a maximum speed of 40 km / h. This use 100% electric is therefore intended for urban driving above all. Above 40 km / h, the electric motor is used to recharge the car battery.

Subaru finally adds to its Forester e-Boxer an e-Active Shift Control transmission, which would make the car more agile and improve its response. The functionality might be particularly useful in high winds. The Japanese brand finally indicates that its Subaru Forester is capable of towing 1,870 kilos, while its interior offers a loading volume of 509 liters, or even 1,779 liters with the rear seat folded down. On board, the driver will be able to benefit from an 8-inch touch screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The price and release date of this restyled Subaru Forester e-Boxer have not yet been released. The current model being marketed from 39,990 €, this restyled version should exceed 40,000 €.
