A few days following the death of Charles Crahay in Huy, the judicial machine has shifted into high gear. Thus the autopsy of the deceased has yielded some elements which will more than probably be of importance.
As a reminder, Sunday around noon, Charles Crahay was shot dead by a double police fire as he left his home, rue Paul Carré in Huy. According to several testimonies collected on the spot, the forty-something, living in the street was breaking windows of cars parked on the road.
Alerted, police arrived on the scene as the suspect returned to his home and was busy throwing trinkets from his window.
The police officers then rang the bell. That’s when Charles Crahay came out… sword in hand. He would then have brandished the knife heading towards the police. One of the two policemen took out his pistol and gave the usual injunctions, which did not make the Hutois retreat. The policeman eventually opened fire twice. The man will die on the spot.
This Monday, the shooter’s colleague was interviewed and confirmed the facts as presented at the time of the first testimonies. The shooter has not yet been heard.
In the abdomen
The autopsy of the deceased was also carried out and the first elements would accredit the version put forward by the two Hut police officers.
Thus, it appears that the first bullet hit Charles Crahay in the arm. She entered through the back of the biceps and came out through the front of the arm. Suddenly, this allows more than reasonable to think that Mr. Crahay was facing the shooter and had his armed arm raised.
The second projectile, meanwhile, hit the victim by entering through the armpit to perforate the abdomen. There too, the arm which might potentially be in the path was not touched, which is on the other hand obvious if, here too, the arm is raised to brandish the knight’s sword found at the scene of the tragedy. .
The investigation is obviously not finished, several judicial duties are still in progress and awaited by the investigating magistrate.
