“The Hut” Seminar – Interview: Petra Regl talks about the seminar “The Hut – a weekend with God”

Q: What is special regarding the seminar “The Hut”?
The special thing regarding it is definitely the depth of this seminar. Inspired by various scenes from the film, we have prepared keynote speeches. Anyone who knows the film knows how deeply the content touches the heart. The absolute highlight is also the ambience. The Austriahütte, where the seminar takes place, is an old and very lovingly prepared Alpine Club hut at the foot of the Dachstein. This place alone shows you how stunningly beautiful and creative God created the world just to make us happy. The awesome Dachstein massif right in front of the hut brings you straight into the worship of our incredible God.

Q: How to reach the hut? Do you hike together?
The seminar starts on the Ramsau plateau, the luggage is brought to the hut and you hike up for regarding 1 ½ hours on a forest road. About halfway through, each participant receives a letter from God – just like Mac received an invitation from God in the film – that includes a personal touch. Most of the participants experienced a very personal message in the individually written letter and when they reached the hut they already had the feeling that God had already deeply met them.

Q: Are there also one-to-one sessions for the participants?
There are small groups where you can receive prayer as well as exchange. In each group, we devote ourselves to a specific person over the course of the day. Take our time and pay attention to it. The entire group then stands together in prayer for this person, according to the motto “Where one or two are together in HIS name…”

Q: Why should one absolutely do this seminar?
Time runs slower in the hut, you decelerate, you have distance from everyday life and through nature you seem to be closer to God, which makes hearing HIS voice easier. The simple accommodation and diet makes one reflect on what is essential in life. The warm community and care of the innkeepers is good for the soul. Over 1000 meters of altitude you are on first name terms and everyone is the same. A lot of what otherwise seems important is unimportant up there and complicated things suddenly seem simple. The relaxed life of these days protects once morest distraction and helps to concentrate on God’s speaking.

Q: What touched you personally at the last seminar?
I was touched by the testimony of one retiree when he said that he came with him to please his wife and that he had no expectations when he arrived. But God makes brilliant plans. He gave him access to his feelings which gave him a new quality of life and his testimony was overflowing with joy and emotion. His wife was so happy regarding his change. It is never too late for God to work.

Q: Do you also experience God’s work as a seminar leader or are you in work mode?
Every seminar is different and God directs. Although I have the plan in my head, I am always open to changing plans if they are God’s will. I am aware of my limitations and have always experienced that God expands them and fills in my deficits. I depend on HIM. In addition, I am supported by the best employees in conducting the seminar. I can rely on her 100% and always take time out when I need it to connect with God’s presence in stillness and nature.
At the last seminar I experienced a touching answer to my prayers: I love animals and two years ago I discovered a wood grouse with a friend at the seminar at the Austriahütte for the first time. Now that I knew the sound, I also heard at the last seminar that it mightn’t be far. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to investigate the sound and was kind of sad regarding it as I love watching God’s creatures. In my sadness and anger at myself and my schedule, I sought God. A few minutes later, while I was packing my backpack for the departure, I opened my room window for a bit of fresh air and to my great surprise saw 2 grouse with several hens pecking around regarding 6 m away. God clearly wanted to make me happy and brought these very shy animals right in front of my room window. Our heavenly papa is amazing!

One last question: What if you can’t hike up to the hut?
A seminar “Die Hütte” is planned for 2024 in a district that can be reached by car, so that this experience can also be made possible for people who cannot or do not want to hike. There will also be a second part of the seminar, because there are still many topics in the film that want to be addressed. Our heavenly father still has many ideas regarding how he would like to reach us and it is an honor for us to be there when HE meets and releases people.

Thank you for the talk!
