Officially launched on June 8 in Brazzaville by the Ministry in charge of the Economy, the Harmonized Survey on Household Living Conditions (EHCVM-Congo) is continuing in other localities of the country.
After Brazzaville, the harmonized survey on household living conditions (EHCVM-Congo) started on July 16 in other localities, notably in Ouesso, in the Sangha department. Carried out by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), this survey makes it possible to collect data from the population to report on the standard of living of all Congolese on a national scale. Fieldworkers collect data relating to the characteristics of each household, the level of consumption of the family, education and health. Other teams have been tasked with criss-crossing the markets and points of sale, to collect the prices and weight of food and non-food products. The EHCVM-Congo provides the Congolese authorities with statistics on poverty, employment and social issues in Congo to assess public policies for economic and social development. For the government, all this information will facilitate the implementation of the National Development Plan (PND) 2022-2026 and fight once morest the high cost of living. This survey is organized by the Ministry of Economy through the INS with the support of the World Bank through the Statistics Capacity Building Project.
