The house in which the murders of four students took place in November in Idaho will be destroyed.
This is a “step towards healing,” the University of Idaho said in a statement.
Its demolition ‘removes the structure in which the crime that rocked our community was committed [et] makes sure to less sensationalize this crime scene, ”we add.
Located near the university campus, the house “contained significant amounts of blood from the victims,” reports CNN.
On November 13, Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin were stabbed multiple times in the early hours of their apartment.
After two months of investigating this mysterious murder, police have finally arrested a 28-year-old man, Bryan Kohberger, who now faces four counts of first degree murder.
A university spokeswoman told CNN she hopes the mansion will be demolished this semester.
A garden will also be set up on campus in memory of the victims.
