A turning point? On the eve of the arrival of the bill on immigration in the Law Committee of the National Assembly, 17 deputies from the Republicans (LR) signed on Sunday in “La Tribune” a very constructive text with regard to the government. Not content with paying tribute to the “remarkable work of the senatorial majority”, the signatories plead to “achieve a point of balance which serves the interest of the French and is finally effective” in the National Assembly.
They declare themselves ready to vote on the text if the version which will emerge from the Assembly does not deviate too far from that adopted at first reading in the Senate. “The unraveling of the Senate text is obviously the main threat to the future of this law. We will only be able to give our votes if the spirit of the project voted by the Senate prevails,” write the signatories, led by the deputy for Seine-et-Marne Jean-Louis Thiériot.
