The Home Front Command updated the public defense guidelines: from Haifa to the north limiting gatherings

Due to the security situation and after assessing the situation, the Home Front Command updated the public defense guidelines. The instructions are updated starting today (Saturday, September 21) at 20:30 until Monday (September 23) at 18:00.

The Home Front Command restrictions only apply to the Bay and Valley settlements. No restrictions apply On the Carmel settlements. The full list of settlements is at the end of the news.

The new guidelines say that from Haifa to the north, there is a restriction on gatherings:

Gathering: in an open area up to 30 people, in a building up to 300 people.

The beaches will be closed to the public.

Educational activities: Educational activities can be held in a place from which you can reach a standard protected area during the defense, subject to the instructions of the Home Front Command.

Workplaces: It is possible to carry out an activity in a building or in a place from which you can reach a standard protected space during the defense.

It is important to rememberwhen warning of missile fire, you don’t wait for interceptions and certainly don’t take pictures – it’s life-threatening!

Has an alert been received in your area? This is how you should act when you are in a building, in an open area or while traveling. Remember that you must wait 10 minutes, no less, for fear of prolonged firing and damage from intercept fragments that have not yet landed on the ground. Remember, Home Front Command directives save lives.

The Home Front Command stated: “Each and every one of us must make sure that we are prepared and know how to act to protect our lives and our loved ones. We must continue to follow the instructions published by the Home Front Command through the official means of distribution.”

For your convenience, the complete list of mass shelters that have been trained to open as protected spaces, when an alarm sounds.

The following Carmelit stations:

  • Hanaviyim station, Hanaviyim 22 – at the entrance next to the post office.
  • The Prophets Station 1
  • Masada station, Masada 29
  • Golomb station, Golomb 35
  • Carmel Center Station, 122 Hanasi St. – at the entrance next to the piano square.

Residents evacuating to these stations are asked to bring with them basic equipment for a short stay only and to vacate the stations at the end of the event, for the purpose of resuming the operation of the Carmelite. The protected area for the residents, the Carmelite docks only. After the start of rocket fire or following an orderly announcement from the Haifa city, there will be a guard available 24/7.

Mass shelters (within underground parking lots):

The Home Front Command approved these parking lots for use as protected spaces (starting from the floor indicated next to the name of the parking lot and below). A notice of the opening of the parking lots to the public will be sent through the media and in an SMS message to the residents.
