The glorious history of the Holocaust Museum has now gone into digital form with the aim of organizing and promoting it, and this was the subject of yesterday’s conference held in Kalavryta
The conference was held at Versatile Cultural Center of the Municipality, with the aim of disseminating the results of the project “Innovative actions for the utilization – highlighting of Digital Cultural Stock” and which began with a greeting from the mayor Thanasis Papadopoulosfor the former president of the Museum to take the floor afterwards Christos Foteinopoulos.
Afterwards, the archaeologist – art historian made presentations Fotini Tsonou of the Ministry of Culture, by Mr. Professor of Photogrammetry at the Polytechnic University Andreas Georgopoulos and from Anna Kurelia (Dotsoft company). The speakers focused on the digitization, documentation and digital deposition of museum objects, the available audio-visual material and the historical archive, books, works of art and architectural plans of the Museum, as well as the development of digital applications for the dissemination of the material.

At the same time, the Kalavryta Holocaust Museumwith the supply of innovative equipment, will upgrade it digital mode of it so that it is accessible to every part of the planet.
It should be noted that the project content will now be available in 4 languageswhile with the use «beacons» and «QR-tags»the visitor will be able to quickly and easily view the information he wishes.
The Mayor Thanasis Papadopoulosamong others, pointed out: “The exploitation and promotion of the digital cultural stock of the Kalavryt Holocaust Museum is a very important investment for the future and indeed an investment not in financial terms, but in terms of preservation and promotion of historical memory, historical knowledge and documentation and of course cultural identity”.
