The HNA Group owner of airlines, among others Hainan Airlines, Beijing Capital Airlines or Lucky Airwants to grow its global fleet to more than a thousand planes by the next decade, and up to 1,300 by 2035.
While he already has approximately 800 devices and has just announced an order for one hundred COMAC and ARJ single-aisle aircraft for its regional subsidiaries, the Chinese group might soon unveil the acquisition of several hundred aircraft by 2029, which would make it exceed 1,000 aircraft in its global fleet. And this in order to respond to the growth of the air traffic in chinathe leaders of HNA aiming for 2035 “between 1200 and 1300 planes”.
According to Caixin Global, Hainan Airlines is the first carrier of the group and as such “should be the first recipient” of these orders. Its fleet already counts (212 Airbus A330 and especially Boeing 737 and 787), Hainan Airlines therefore providing more than a quarter of its planes and will be “probably the largest recipient” of these new planes.
No details were provided on the types of aircraft targeted or a possible timeline, but another fast-developing country – theInde – has this year multiplied the giant orders (at Air India then Indigo).
