With Centroguided by its vision of “Always Breaking New Frontiers,” has announced an investment of nearly $6.5 million toward the transformation of a historic 1930s building into the ultra-modern Health Information Technology Center / HITC).
The news was announced by Allan Cintrón Salichs, Executive Director of With Centroduring the inauguration ceremony which was also attended by the governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi, legislators and mayors of the southern zone.
“This Health Information Technology Center complements clinical care by remotely connecting the patient with the clinical practitioner. In With Centro We take the needs of the population we serve very seriously, sparing no efforts to efficiently conduct our actions and thus allocate the resources available to always guarantee the uninterrupted continuity of quality clinical care for the patient, particularly during emergencies,” said Cintrón. He HITC It will have 20 cubicles for Telemedicine / Teleconsultation sessions, as well as a Communication Center with the patient, equipped with 15 additional cubicles, for managing appointments, monitoring treatments and coordinating clinical referrals. Each cubicle will be equipped with cutting-edge computer technology and specialized digital information systems, all interconnected.
Highlighting its commitment to sustainability, the HITC It will operate with renewable energy thanks to a sophisticated system of solar panels and batteries. This system includes 550 photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 440V each, backed by a complex of 29 Tesla batteries of 82 KW/H each. Together, this electrical infrastructure generates a total of 150KW/H at 110-220V, guaranteeing 100% operation of the center 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Besides, With Centro supports its renewable energy network with connection to the external energy grid, thus contributing to a Net Metering program. A third source of energy is provided by a diesel fuel power plant with a capacity of 300 KW/H at 110-220V.

Direct Relief Humanitarian Aid
Likewise, the contribution of the humanitarian aid organization Direct Relief was highlighted, which has allocated nearly $1.7 million in financial aid to With Centro to strengthen its operations in emergency situations. In addition, Direct Relief has donated $500,000 to support the sophisticated renewable energy logistics of the HITC.
Attorney Ivonne Rodríguez Wiewall, executive advisor of Direct Relief Puerto Rico, explained that, “support for With Centro It was possible thanks to the donation of $50 million from the pharmaceutical company Abbvie to expand access to health services in Puerto Rico.
