The History of Lebanon’s Adherence to International Resolutions and Israel’s Violations

Today, Tuesday, Representative Jamil Al-Sayyid wrote in a post on his account on the “X” platform: “Lebanon has not violated any international resolution in its history from 1948 until today, but it has always been a victim of Israel’s failure to implement any international resolution except according to its mood and timing.”

He added, “For example, in 1978, Resolution 425 was issued to withdraw from the south, and it was not implemented until the year 2000 under the weight of the resistance, while it still occupies some borders and the Shebaa Farms and practices land, air, and sea violations.”

Al-Sayed continued, “This is without forgetting its continued violation of Resolution 1701 of 2006, and its refusal to implement any international resolution related to Palestine, the occupied Arab territories, and refugees.”

He added, “The important thing is that today, Israel is demanding that Lebanon implement Resolution 1701, threatening its state and its people, and sending warnings and intimidations through Western countries, while Lebanon is adhering to its declared rights and will not yield to threats and blackmail.”

Al-Sayyid continued, “In international law, resistance in any country is a result of the occupation and not a cause of it, while for Israel, resistance is the cause of the occupation, and its logic says: Remove the resistance so that I can settle in occupying your land!”

He concluded, “Whoever thinks that the world can stabilize upside down is delusional.”
