The Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain is one of the giant edifices in the Kingdom and the region, as it is one of the Kingdom’s sports investments, especially in light of hosting a group of distinguished events and events in the heart of the circuit.
And from the heart of the Sakhir region, the headquarters of the track, the world was facing a new Arab challenge, which confirmed that they are always capable of the challenge with a wonderful organization of the event, so that the Kingdom wrote a new history in form and content in a wonderful way, and it was a reason for the astonishment of speed enthusiasts on the track.
The story of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the Formula 1 race began in 2002, when the contract to build the Bahrain International Circuit was signed. The construction of the large project took nearly two years, specifically 496 days, to come to light in April 2004, when it hosted the first race in Its history.
On March 17, 2004, the official opening of the circuit took place, and two weeks later, specifically on April 4, 2004, the first race was held at the Bahrain Racecourse, amid the world’s celebration of the Kingdom.
The Bahrain Circuit is one of the distinguished circuits in terms of design, as it was designed by the German engineer Hermann Tekle, who also designed the Kuala Lumpur Circuit in Malaysia, and succeeded in producing an architectural masterpiece that the world spoke regarding passionately during that period.

The circuit includes 5 tracks approved by the International Automobile Federation, which are the indoor circuit, the outdoor circuit, the Grand Prix circuit, the dragster circuit and the test circuit, which qualifies it to host a group of different races together, most notably the “Formula-1” and “Formula-1” races. 2, Formula 3, drag racing, Porsche GT3 Challenge Middle East races, GP2 series races, and other car races.
The circuit includes in its edifice the distinctive circular tower, which represents a prominent icon of the “Formula 1” races in Bahrain. It is composed of 9 floors and provides an ideal panoramic view of all the race tracks, in addition to a technical information center for “Formula 1”, and buildings to accommodate 18 people. A team, a medical center and a large area for events, activities, restaurants, facilities and services provided to visitors.
The Grand Prix Circuit is the main and largest track in Formula 1 racing, with a length of 5.412 kilometers, and contains 12 turns and three overtaking areas. The number of laps during the Grand Prix race is 57 laps, and the circuit can accommodate 50,000 spectators. While the main platform accommodates ten thousand spectators.
