“The world must know, the Republic of Guyana must know that, in the face of the historical rights over Guayana Esequiba, Venezuela has a single voice: Essequibo is ours above the differences,” stated this Tuesday the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

During the General Assembly of the Federal Council of Government with the participation of the Council of State, the Defense Council, and the Council of the Nation, which he led from the Military Academy of the Bolivarian Army, in Caracas, he defined this assembly as an act of unity national, of encounter and consensus, which “has a very special objective”, after having “traveled together a historical demand, without pettiness, sectarianism, without exclusions, without separating anyone, but convening everyone. It is the historical claim of Guayana Esequiba of Venezuela.”

The Head of State emphasized that in the country there has been an “exercise of politics with the capital ‘P’, with the capital ‘P’ with which Homeland is written, the Homeland that belongs to us all, beyond colors , parties, political or ideological positions.”

As a reflection, he continued by saying that it is a generous exercise of love for Venezuela. “Here we find ourselves Venezuelans who are in totally different positions regarding the political alternatives and political projects of our country.”

Along these lines, he said that a new call has been made this Tuesday. “We have already convened ourselves to raise the issue, to welcome the blessed, brilliant initiative of the National Assembly to call a consultative referendum on the great issues of the trajectory and historical legacy of Guayana Esequiba, on the great issues of the present and, above all, about the great issues of the future.” «The stage allowed us to convene, to meet again, each person presented their vision and on Sunday the voice of the people spoke, which was forceful. In the five questions, the Venezuelan people showed an impressive consensus, shocking of the position that has united, unites and must unite Venezuela on this great issue that has to do with territorial integrity, sovereignty, peace and the region.
