A very resourceful thief hid his face in a particularly ineffective way as he committed his crime.
The man committed the theft in a store in Miami where cell phones are repaired and to hide his identity, he put a cardboard box on his head.
However, the thief was unable to seize the mobile phones with the box on their head.
On the surveillance video provided to NBC 6 News, we see the man trying to lift the box with his hand to allow himself to see better, but the criminal strikes too hard and ends up completely removing the box from his head, revealing his identity.
After collecting CCTV footage, store owner Jeremias Berganza told NBC he was able to spot the thief having a drink at a bar not far from his store. The police quickly arrested him.
The bizarre incident happened around 4 a.m. on May 3, and the thief took 19 iPhones and $8,000 in cash, a total value of $15,000, Berganza told NBC.
