the highway at a complete stop (photo)

Some snow, slippery roads and a truck that gets stuck. This is what happened this Wednesday morning at the Battice interchange on the E42. Motorists had to be patient around 6 a.m. since the highway was at a “complete stop”, according to Internet users stranded in Chaineux in the direction of Battice.

On the Malmedy side, it was also advisable to avoid the Bayehon (Ovifat towards Longfaye). The road looked like a “real skating rink” according to some accounts and several vehicles got stuck. Since then, snow removal services have acted on site.

Slippery Conditions Alert

Until 10 a.m. this Wednesday morning, the provinces of Liège, Namur and Luxembourg (as well as Limburg in Flanders) are on yellow alert for slippery conditions. This morning, the roads may therefore be slippery in places, due to patches of ice or the last snowfalls which will still mainly affect the regions located south of the Sambre and Meuse furrow or even locally the Campine.
