Shaaban said that the drinks he is referring to are soft drinks, pointing out that people who are used to consuming them are at risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.

He explained that soft drinks increase the risk of high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis and diabetes, because they contain a high percentage of sugars and high calories.
He added that the same applies to canned juices, as they contain high sugars, which makes them harmful to the health of the body, especially the heart and blood vessels.

He revealed that some people accept diet soda, thinking that it is a safe alternative to soft drinks, because it is sugar-free and low in calories, denying the validity of this common belief.

Shaaban emphasized that diet soda is no less dangerous than soft drinks, as promoted by the companies that produce it, because it contains high levels of artificial sweeteners.
