The heroine of “The Black Panther” Wafaa Salem is retiring from art

The artist, Wafaa Salem, blew a big surprise by retiring from art, without revealing the reasons that prompted her, and promised to reveal them at a later time.

And she published a video clip on YouTube, at the beginning of which she spoke about the health crisis she was exposed to, and the calls she received from everyone to check on her.

She stated that she received calls from the Arab community in California, and they offered her to come there and help her to perform surgery and overcome the crisis.

In the clip, the artist talked about her crisis with lying, which always makes her unhappy.

She indicated that she wanted to improve public taste through good works of art in which she participated, stressing that she was fortunate to participate with giants, most notably Ahmed Zaki in the movie “The Black Panther”, and director Atef Salem, who gave her his name.

She revealed her retirement from art without explaining the specific reasons behind her decision, and promised her fans to publish another video explaining the reasons that prompted her to do so.

Wafaa Salem was born in Syria, and came to Egypt to join the Higher Institute of Cinema, and there she met director Atef Salem, who nominated her for the movie “The Black Panther with Ahmed Zaki” and gave her his name, to launch her artistic career through a huge work, and she progressed in her career about 100 artworks, the last of which was a series “Sutas in Arabic”.
