“Polyfoniki” is preparing a series of events for the next period of time.
In particular, the percussion group of the “Polyphonic” Conservatory, class of professor Giorgos Lambrakos, is going to participate in the 2nd Patras International Half Marathon, which will take place on Sunday, April 7 and which is organized by A.O. “Pelops” and the newspaper “Peloponnisos” with the co-organization of the Region of Western Greece. The group in question will cover the 21 km Half Marathon from 9 am until its completion, at the junction of Othonos-Amalia and Trion Navarchon streets.
On Monday, April 15 at 7:00 p.m., a religious music concert will take place in the Pantanassi Church of Patras, with the participation of the Byzantine Dance of “Polyphonic” (Director: Yannis Kottoros), the Mixed Chorus of “Polyphonic” (Director: Stavros Solomos ) and the Tetraphonic Church Choir “G.N.Triantis” of the Holy Church of Pantanassi (Director: Theodoros Chalkiopoulos). Entry for the public free.
On the weekend of April 20 and 21, at 8:30 p.m., concerts of the “Polyphonic” Conservatory will be held in the concert hall of the “Tolis Nomikos” Organization, with students of the School of Monodia, class of Contemporary singing, by professor Chryssa Pantazopoulou, with free for the common entrance.
On Thursday, April 25, in the early followingnoon (around 4.30), a special ceremony will be held to welcome the Olympic Flame, in front of the house of Kostis Palamas (Corinthos Street). The artistic program of the event will cover three departments of the Organization: The “Polyphonic” Conservatory with the eminent mezzo soprano Irini Karagianni in recitals, singing and Lousi Christodoulou on the piano, the Philharmonic Orchestra (Director: Giorgos Bourdopoulos) and the Mixed Orchestra ( Address: Stavros Solomos).
On Lazarus Saturday, April 27, the Organization’s Children’s Choir, conducted by Aretousa Nikolopoulos and Marina Mylonas on the piano, will take part in the 27th Choir Meeting of Religious Music, which will be held in the Holy Church of the Pantheon, Kalamata.
On Holy Monday, April 29, the “Polyphonic” Conservatory (Professor Irini Karagianni’s Monody class) will present Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s famous work “Stabat Mater”. Students Konstantina Bri (soprano) and Marilena Nisidis (mezzo soprano) will perform. Olena Fedko will play the piano. The concert will take place at 9 pm, in the concert hall of the Organization “Tolis Nomikos”, with free entrance for the public.
Finally, on Maundy Thursday, the Mixed Choir of “Polyphonic” according to custom will perform during the sequence of the 12 Gospels, the eponymous trope “Today it hangs…”, in the Holy Church of Agios Dionysios of Patras, together with old members of the Organization.
