British newspapers continued to highlight allegations related to the health of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the British newspaper, The Mirror, quoted an officer in the Russian Federal Security Service warning that he had only 3 years left to live because of his cancer.
The newspaper pointed out that Russian intelligence sources became increasingly concerned regarding the health of the Russian leader, and the officer described the Russian president’s condition as a “severe form of cancer that is rapidly developing,” as speculation escalated that Putin was suffering from some form of serious illness amid the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
The spy explained that the wartime leader “has no more than two to three years left,” and is also losing his sight, according to the Mirror.
News of the Russian leader’s chronic illness surfaced as part of a secret message from the unnamed Russian agent to former FSB agent Boris Karpichkov.
The letter warned that Putin refuses to wear the glasses due to fears they might reveal his weakness and that he is now attacking his subordinates with “uncontrollable fury”.
These developments come as news of his deteriorating health continues to leak outside Russia through a channel on the “Telegram” application that claims to have sources inside the Kremlin.
Putin reportedly underwent a “successful” cancer surgery this month and is recovering following advice from doctors that treatment is “essential,” according to General SVR channel on Telegram.
The news emerged just hours before Putin appeared in a state television interview with his ally Alexander Lukashenko in Sochi, when the camera caught him awkwardly twisting his feet as they sat down for talks.
This is the second time that Putin has been photographed making the strange move, which was caught on camera during a meeting with the president of Tajikistan a week ago, and comes once morest the background of rumors that he suffers from Parkinson’s disease.
Critics have suggested the movement may be an attempt to cover up the type of tics caused by Parkinson’s disease – following Putin was seen shaking his arm before another meeting with Lukashenko on February 18.
Since then, he has been seen grabbing the arms of chairs and corners of tables in what some believe is an attempt to mask any shaking.
Other sources have also hinted that the strong man’s health is poor, warning that he is unable to maintain focus for long periods of time without taking breaks to “receive treatment.”
Whispers regarding Putin’s health began at least two years ago when he was said to be suffering from Parkinson’s disease and cancer, but he has received renewed attention in the wake of the military operation in Ukraine.
