The research Physical activity, nature and mental well-being: a systematic review considered more than 300 studies carried out in 61 countries regarding the influence of nature on health. The fundamental premise was that the ways in which the environment favors humans is impressive, since among the various benefits are drinking water, raw materials or obtaining food.

Similarly, there are non-material forms that demonstrate the positive impact of nature. The experts found that spending time around the environment contributes to human well-being in nearly 200 intangible ways. At a general level, they grouped all the positive issues into 16 groups.

Among the best benefits, the following stand out:

Cohesion. Interacting with nature helps people connect with each other. Intuition. Being in contact with nature influences human instinct, developing sensory experiences and feelings. Satisfaction. Nature is related to feelings of satisfaction and fulfillment. Transformation. Connecting with nature elevates the mood and causes changes in attitude and behavior.

In the report, people who frequented natural spaces were contrasted with those who did not. The difference was especially significant when analyzing the cognitive deterioration generated by the lack of nature in urban environments. Being in contact with the environment generated better things in the mind, which allowed people to be more effective in their daily duties.
