UFC head Dana White on press conferences called impressive support for the first fighter of the promotion from Tajikistan, Nurullo Aliyev, whose fight in his homeland was watched by a whole stadium.
White posted on Instagram (owned by Meta Platforms, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow declared the company extremist and banned its activities) a video of a packed stadium of fans supporting Aliyev during the fight, despite the night in Tajikistan. Aliyev made his debut in the UFC with a victory over the Brazilian Rafael Alves.
“It’s great when that happens. This guy flew in here and fought in Vegas. It’s fun, it’s impressive, it’s cool to see this on social media, or what kind of meeting they have at home after big wins, ”White said.

Aliyev, 23, has nine victories in nine fights in MMA.
Aliyev in September 2022 became the first fighter from Tajikistan to sign a contract with the UFC.
