Arrowhead studio head Johan Pilestedt expressed his bewilderment at the removal of Helldivers 2 from Steam in the Baltic countries. The DTF portal reports this.
“We have no idea what’s going on. It’s the weekend for most of the developers, and we just learned regarding what happened from our community. We want the game to be available all over the world,” Pilestedt said.
The head of the studio that developed Helldivers 2 emphasized that at the moment the company does not have additional information regarding the reasons for the cessation of sales in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. He also added that he had previously negotiated with representatives of PlayStation and Valve in order to restore sales of Helldivers 2 in all regions. In total, the game has been discontinued in 180 countries where it is not possible to officially create a PlayStation Network (PSN) account.
A similar situation occurred with the game Ghost of Tsushima, sales of which were also suspended in 180 countries. In this regard, players have already begun to return money and cancel pre-orders. Representatives from Sony, Sucker Punch Productions and Valve have not yet commented on the situation. The game’s release for PC is scheduled for May 16.
