The HCC struggles against the red lantern

HC La Chaux-de-Fonds signed its 28e victory of the season in regular time, Sunday in Ticino, in the Swiss Ice Hockey League. Thierry Paterlini’s team took the measure not without difficulty of the Ticino Rockets, bottom of the championship, with the score of 6-3. She really forged her success in the final third time, scoring four times.

No game without stake

Guaranteed to clinch third place in the standings at the end of the regular season following his demonstration on Friday once morest Thurgau, the HC La Chaux-de-Fonds did not make such a copy once morest the rockets of Biasca. On Sunday, it was the inaccuracies that punctuated the game.

From the start of the game, an error in La Chaux-de-Fonnière in the offensive zone allowed the Ticino to open the scoring following less than three minutes of play through Rocco Pezzullo. But the Bees were able to rectify the situation thanks to successes from Axel Andersson (11′) and Oliver Ackermann (18′), while the HCC was playing outnumbered.

While the hardest part seemed to be done in this part, the HCC let their opponent relaunch in the middle period. Riccardo Werder’s equalizer (24′) then Chistophe Cavalleri’s 3-2 (39′) further complicated the task for the Bees.

A success to experience

The final period held its share of emotions, and not always positive ones. After Ludovic Voirol’s equalizer (41′), the game got tougher. Failing to offer a high level game, the Ticino started to elbow each other in this last third time. And, once is not custom, this attitude destabilized the HCC which entered the game of its adversary. There followed a festival of penalties and a more than tense atmosphere on the ice. A dangerous charge on David Eugster, fortunately without harm, even earned a match penalty for Ticino’s top scorer, François Beauchemin, at the end of the game.

Despite this context, the Bees managed to make the difference thanks to successes from Nils Sejejs (48′), Mathias Trettenes (54′) and Oliver Achermann (59′).

A hard-fought victory and lessons to be learned from this match according to HC La Chaux-de-Fonds striker Jaison Dubois:
