Zamalek’s men’s handball team lost to its African counterpart, Tunisia, 33-31, to set a possible date to face Al-Ahly, in the African Club Championship.
The events of the match, which took place for the fourth round of the group stage of the African Championship taking place in Tunisia, came at a medium level, amid control and a relative advantage on the part of the African.
The Tunisian African finished the first half ahead of Zamalek with a score of 18-17 in the last moments, before continuing his advantage in the second half, and was able to settle the match in his favour, with a score of 33-31.
Today, Wednesday, Al-Ahly hand team defeated Tunisia’s Esperance 28-21 at the end of the first round matches of the African Championship, achieving the full mark and qualifying for the second round of the tournament as the leader of the group following winning its four matches.
With these results, Zamalek sets a date to meet the third of the second group, while Al-Ahly will meet the fourth of the first group, for the account of the quarter-finals, and if the Egyptian two teams win, they will meet in the semi-finals.
It is noteworthy that Tunisia will host the 43rd edition of the African Handball Club Championship, from September 30 to October 9, with the participation of 10 clubs divided into two groups.
