DUBAI, 3rd June, 2019 (WAM) — The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance announced the organization of the Hamdan Scale for Giftedness Development Program.
The program aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of the scale by developing, authoring and formulating a set of questions and items for its parts in light of the scientific and theoretical criteria on which it was built.
The program included scientific discussions, interactive dialogues, and training workshops on methods for developing tools for identifying gifted students, and methods for preparing and identifying discovery tools and their suitability for the targeted educational stages.
The program was implemented with the assistance of Professor Aladdin Ayoub, Professor of Psychometrics at the Arabian Gulf University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and with the participation of approximately 30 experts and specialists in educational institutions represented in the United Arab Emirates University, the Ministry of Education, the Emirates Foundation for School Education, as well as the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation. For outstanding educational performance and a number of institutions that support gifted students.
Dr. Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance, said: “We are pleased to organize the Hamdan Gifted Scale Development Program, through which we aim to develop a bank of questions in all parts of the scale, in a way that contributes to achieving sustainability for the scale and contributing to the discovery of gifted students using a group Among the modern scientific standards for discovering gifted students, caring for them, and providing them with appropriate support, in line with the vision and objectives of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance aimed at encouraging and supporting students’ capabilities and talents, and its endeavor to achieve leadership in discovering gifted students and caring for them according to scientific foundations and advanced methodological controls.
The Hamdan Scale of Giftedness is one of the best and most modern Arab scales that is internationally recognized, as it was prepared by a scientific team specialized in prestigious international universities in Germany and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The scale was also designed according to the latest scientific theories and international best practices in the fields of talent.
The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation built the scale and developed the appropriate mechanisms for it to enhance the qualitative evaluation of male and female students who have the skills and abilities inherent in talent and creativity.
