The habits that teachers should have | THE UNIVERSAL

Being healthy is everyone’s commitment! That is why teachers should not neglect their physical or emotional health at any time before, during and following classes. It is important that they carry out extracurricular activities and that they dedicate time to recreation. For example, sharing time with their families and friends, going to the movies, to the beach, among other plans. (Read: Pay attention to student behaviors!)

One of the recommendations shared by the “Healthily” strategy has to do with limiting the time spent on social networks. “Batteries, teachers! Back to face-to-face classes we must have healthy habits. Every day try to reduce the time you spend on cell phones because it can negatively affect your physical and mental health, “recommended Nurys Mendoza, professor of Communication, Significance and Cultural Traditions at the Escuela Normal Superior de Cartagena.

He stressed that it is important that within the care that must be taken are: eating well, exercising and hydrating. “I invite you to rest, go out with your friends and make cool plans. (…) You can also consult a health professional when you want to talk and receive support”, assured Professor Nurys. (You may also be interested in: Mental health campaign launched in Cartagena)

Focusing on victories is another of the strategies that must be implemented, leaving negative thoughts behind is the first step to start and end each day.

“We can replace those bad thoughts with the little joys of the day. Breathe, yes, breathe because doing breathing exercises in times of stress and before going to sleep can help you think and feel better, “added Mendoza.

“Healthily” is an initiative promoted by USAID, in conjunction with its international partnership programs and the Cartagena Mayor’s Office, which seeks to promote a safe return to face-to-face classes.
