Nintendo representative director Shigeru Miyamoto recently accepted an exclusive interview with the British newspaper The Guardian, saying that he still has no plans to retire, but he has indeed thought regarding the day when he collapses.

Shigeru Miyamoto, 71, has long reached retirement age. He joined Nintendo following graduating from college in 1977 and created “Super Mario”, “Donkey Kong”, “The Legend of Zelda” and “F-Zero” , “Pikmin” and “Star Wars Fox” and other Nintendo’s best-selling game works to this day.

Miyamoto told the Guardian: “Rather than retiring, I’m thinking regarding the day I fall.” “In this day and age, you have to think regarding what will happen in five years, so I do think regarding what if something happens to me. , who can I hand over the matter to.”

Shigeru Miyamoto is currently out of game development and has focused in recent years on co-producing “Super Mario Bros. The Movie” with Illumination Entertainment and overseeing the Super Nintendo Park at Universal Studios.

Talking regarding these IPs he created, Miyamoto said: “I am very grateful that the things I have worked hard for have such great energy. These works have entered the world and now there are other people nurturing and helping them grow, so in this sense For the most part, I don’t feel much ownership over them anymore.”

Shigeru Miyamoto even joked that with so many young creators now responsible for the development of these masterpieces, he might one day be forgotten. But he still hopes the teams he works with will remember him as the person who created these things.

Last year Shigeru Miyamoto was asked what Nintendo would be like if the day came when he left. “I really don’t think anything will change,” Miyamoto said. “The people on the management team, the developers, and the people who created Mario all have the same understanding of what Nintendo is.”

“So even if there are new opinions, they will definitely be considered whether they have the essence of Nintendo.” “I think we have an amazing common vision for this, even a bit scary synchronization, so I don’t think Nintendo will change.”
