the group of Moroccan students left the city of Sumy

IA week ago, Jihane, who is one of the group’s students, spoke in an Instagram live: “The situation is more and more perilous, we fear for our lives (…). The city is completely blocked by armed soldiers and tanks (…) the trains are blocked too.”

The group of Moroccans had indeed no way out of the city, prompting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to begin negotiations “sensitive” to repatriate “the twenty Moroccans present in Sumy” stuck in clashes between the Russian and Ukrainian armies, a diplomatic source told us last week.

Today, two days following the opening ofs humanitarian corridors, the official Twitter account of the Moroccan Embassy in Ukraine announced the group’s exit from the city of Sumy, as well as their departure to Poland, allowing students to leave these conflict zones.
