“Medity is essentially the private, exclusive and international meeting point that the medical community longs for and needs.” This is how Ignacio Hernández from Salamanca defines, CEO and one of the founders of the project, to the app you just created. A social network dedicated to the health sector that comes to “change” medicine as we know it.
Ignacio describes himself as a “normal and calm” person, but with the hint of wanting to do “big thingsGraduated in Psychology, he began orienting his professional career towards the management of people and human resources. Not content with this, Ignacio also did an MBA specializing in digital marketing. And this is where the germ of Medity was born.
In these last studies, which helped him “complete the professional profile” that Ignacio wanted to have, he met Mario Vicente, another of the founding members of the social network. Fate wanted to cross their path and the entrepreneurial desire of these two young people led them to create a first joint project.
First project
This adventure led Ignacio and Mario to “immerse” in the environment sanitary related to technology. “The pandemic caught us, but we had the resources and the means to do something nice and supportive,” recalls the CEO of Medity in statements to EL ESPAÑOL – Noticias de Castilla y León.
That’s when he was born Online Medical Opinion. A platform that served users for free. The objective was none other than to “lower the level of uncertainty” of those people whose diagnoses were paralyzed by Covid-19 and which brought with it times of stress and ignorance by not discovering what they were suffering from. “It was a tremendous success on a social level, in less than 3 or 4 months, with a team of 50 doctors, we managed to reach parts of the world that we might not imagine, we treated more than 25,000 people,” says Ignacio Hernández.
It was this platform that turned on the light bulb for Ignacio and Mario. “We realized a few things. The first is the importance of union between people for any matter, and the second is the value that the medical community has for society”, assures the young entrepreneur from Salamanca.
Once the foundations and main concepts were established, the idea arose regarding what “poorly connected” which is the health sector. The project was joined by David Pescador and Juan Blanco, two “great traumatologists” and who were “the gateway” to the doctors. That led them to see that to bring the team together they had to be of “agenda in agenda with calls, messages, etc, with the loss of time that this supposes and with the little effectiveness that it gave because it was not something that they used habitually”.
“More than that, we saw that in the use of technologies they are very concerned regarding data protection that they share and that they do not trust the networks”, points out the CEO of Medity. And that is when Medity saw the light. “A high-security private network where they can share that information and have the possibility of being connected to each other is interesting “, Add.
“Promoting communication, collaboration, unity and transferring knowledge from one to another opens the door to endless synergies and much more progress. fast“, assures Ignacio Hernández, who trusts that Medity will be able to change medicine.
The social network will allow the new generations to be connected with the oldest. A communication that will open the doors to a new ultra-connected medical world that will allow all people to enrich each other safely and privately. “Medity does not intend to put doors to the seathey are all doctors, the knowledge is international and it is designed to reach the whole world”, reiterates the young entrepreneur.
Working so that students can enter
In order to access the application, it is necessary to do so with an invitation from someone who is already part of it or by filling out a form. It is mandatory to prove the status of health professional and provide the professional number, although Ignacio confirms to this newspaper that they are working so that Medicine studentswho have not yet finished their degree, can also access the application, since “there are many and it is very interesting for them”.
In its first week of operation, Medity has already registered more than 240 high and the first ‘feedback’ is “very positive”. “They tell us that they didn’t know of any application that was entirely aimed at doctors,” she clarifies. The project has already started rolling and this group of entrepreneurs from Salamanca is here to change medicine.
