The Grinch fined for carpooling

In the United States, you only need to have another passenger in your car to take a fast lane reserved for carpooling … but inflatable puppets, even with the effigy of the Grinch, do not count, had to remind the police of Arizona to a daring motorist before Christmas.

An officer in the western US state last week stopped a motorist who was riding “in the carpool lane with a Seuss-pect ‘passenger’,” the Public Safety Department joked on Twitter on Tuesday, referring to to writer Dr. Seuss, creator of the Grinch.

After careful examination of the cabin, the accompanying greenish complexion was revealed to be an inflatable version of this monster, whose mission is to ruin Christmas.

In the children’s book, the Grinch ends up being fond of the people of Chouville, who continue their celebrations even without the gifts he stole.

But a few days before the end of the year celebrations, the policeman did not let himself be moved: the motorist thus left with a fine in good and due form.

“If we appreciate the festive spirit, this is illegal,” the administration reminded in its message.
