Alappuzha ∙ Opposition Leader V.D.Sathisan wants Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to answer the Governor’s allegations. The Chief Minister should say who tried to attack the Governor. Satheesan said that it is welcome that the Governor said that he will not sign the Lokayukta and University Bills. The governor, who was complicit in the mistake, is now revealing everything.
Seeing the RSS chief at his residence was unbecoming of the post. Before this, when the government-governor problem arose, it was settled through mediators. Tomorrow too, the Chief Minister will meet the Governor through intermediaries. The Chief Minister, who is also the Home Minister, has to answer the Governor’s allegation. This is the first time that the ruling has exerted influence for the vice-chancellor of the university.
Never in the history of Kerala has a Chief Minister approached the Governor to appoint a favorite. This is the first case. Both of them came together in Kannur University VC appointment. Following this recommendation and influence, the search committee constituted by the Governor as per law was dissolved and reappointed to the incumbent VC who could not even apply due to his age.
Now it is being said that the Governor is harassing the government as an RSS person. When the Lokayukta Ordinance came, it was said that this is illegal and will not be accepted under any circumstances. On that day the two groups joined together by signing the ordinance. Now the bill will not be signed. Our stand is that we should not sign the illegal bill – said Sathisan.
